a) Road Supervisor
-Headrick Ditch-Update
Clerk met with Colin Trivers and a date of October 30 at 10:00 a.m. has been chosen for the On Site Meeting with Property owners.
-Landscape for Seniors Complex Update
Hydro seeding still needs to be redone. Mayor Watson will be planting some trees.
-Old Findlay Hill Road-naming
Councillor Bailey to speak to ratepayers.
-Roberts Bridge Update
Receive an e-mail from Marshall Thompson at Tulloch and so bump ups were requested in the Environment Assessment Process so we can more forward on the design. Clerk to contact Marshall to proceed.
-Cloudy Lake Road
Received an e-mail from Laird Twp. requesting a joint meeting to discuss Cloudy Lake Rd. We will not be able to meet in this fiscal year. Will meet in early 2008 when we can build it into that budget.
b) Leisure Services Coordinator
-Programs-Update
October 27 Halloween Party from 1:00-2:15 at Echo Bay Hall
Walking Group has only 3 people signed up.
Parade of Lights Meeting went well-Brandon Lewis and the Sault Steelers will also be Parade Marshalls with Linda Vaughan.
Unique Jean Jacket Course will not take place this fall.
Snowmobile Driving Course scheduled for Nov. 17
Cindy spoke to Mike Pprich in regard to the belting for the arena.
-Sportsplex Committee Report
Eric met Steve Ford last week at the arena to take a look at the beams. Steve is putting together an estimate.
-Canteen
A couple of applications have been received. Continue to post.

At the Hornepayne Meeting the Board voted to proceed with 2nd Seniors Complex Building. Looking at a lot of options to keep the cost of construction down. Design to be amended to provide more 2 bedrooms.

-186 Lake St Installation-Report
This installation was completed.
-Lake St Pump Station Report
Received report from PUC as well as Rd Super in regard to the 2 pumps at the Lake St. Pump Station burning out and requiring to be replaced. 2 pumps were purchased from town and the 2 burnt out pumps may be rebuilt into 1. Karhi was contacted to clean out the pump station. This should be done on a yearly basis as annual maintenance.
-Echo Lake Report-PUC
Received a report from PUC stating the blue green algae bloom in Echo Lake should not have any effect on our source water. Even if there was a bloom closed to the intake our plant is set up to deal with it even though we do not test for that.
He also report on a sewage overflow into the river due to heavy rainfall. When this occurred PUC shut down our intake until everything was clear again.

Councillor Orchard reported that M P Brent St Denis was in attendance at this meeting. There was a very good presentation on Nuclear Power Plants. He also brought to Brent St. Denis attention the issue with sandhill cranes. Hazel McCallion, Mayor of Mississauga will be in Elliot Lake on Saturday Oct. 20 for a Breakfast. Councillor Orchard may attend on his own.

g) Township of Burpee and Mills-Loss of Funding to Provincial Tax Rebate Programs
12. Mayor & Councillors Comments
Councillor Robbins requested that we put in place a program for people to sign out the township engraving pen that can be used to put an identification # on things that they own, like bikes etc., so if they are stolen and recovered they can be identified. The program with work similar to the chimney cleaning program. You put a $10.00 deposit and sign the pen out and then get your deposit back when it is returned.

Councillor Mason updated Council on the improvements to our township website. He will be doing a demonstration at the Public Meeting tomorrow night.
