-Seniors Complex Parking Lot Paving Report

-Landscape for Seniors Complex Update
Sod was laid today and hydro seeding last Thursday. Hydro seeding will be done again due to rain.
-Naming of Old Pioneer Road & Old Findlay Hill Road
Look at naming Old Pioneer Road-Pioneer Road North and Old Findlay Hill Road to be discussed with Sandra and Bruce Findlay.
-Speed Limits on all Municipal Roads
Council to look at all our municipal roads and the speed limits on them due to requests to decrease speed limits on numerous roads. This will be discussed at a public meeting and then a new by-law done up in the New Year addressing all our municipal roads.
-Updating 911 Mapping
Once the Hwy 17 4-lane is open and complete and all our roads needed new names complete we need to update our 911 mapping. Look at asking Stan McHale to do this because he did the original 911 mapping for us.
-Grindings from Hwy 638
MTO has now said that we can have a portion of the grindings. We really cannot use them until next year when it warms up so we will get them from where they will be stored as we need them.
-Echo Lake Rd. Letter-Potential Slope Instabilities
October 2, 2007
Received a letter from Golder Associates who was doing some work for Garden River informing us of some potential instability along Echo River which could have some impact on Echo Lake Road.
-Watson Rd. & Bar River Rd. Signs on Hwy 17 4-lane
Signs on new Hwy 17 4-lane say Watson Rd. South and North rather than East & West. We are not happy with this but MTO states that is how it has to be.
-Cloudy Lake Road-Twp Laird Request
Road Super will not be attending the Laird Council Meeting in regard to Cloudy Lake Road. We requested a joint meeting to discuss this issue and our Road Super will attend at that joint meeting.
-Carillion Letter
Received a letter from Carillion last Friday informing us of the detours for the coming weeks with the hook up of existing 4-lane to new 4-lane.
b) Leisure Services Coordinator
-Programs-Update
Crafty Creators began today-11 participants
Halloween Party scheduled fro Sat. Oct 27 1:00-2:15, Shamrock will be assisting with this again this year
Parade of Lights Meeting booked for Oct. 11 10:00 a.m. Linda Vaughan agreed to be the Parade Marshall
Walking Group is getting a lot of interest will begin soon.
Unique Jean Jacket Class needs to get organized.
Snowmobile Driver Course Sat. Nov. 17, 9-4 at the Sportsplex
-Sportsplex Committee Report
Meeting booked for Oct. 9, 7:00 p.m.
Steve Ford still out of town. Information from CBO stated we needed engineered drawings to do the renovations to the change rooms. Cindy to contact Mike Figures from MR Wright.

Board Meeting scheduled for 1st of November and we should here right after that.
There has been some damage to the siding at the Echo Bay Hall.

Send letter to Sault Steelers and Brandon Lewis for their National Win in Football.
Winter Carnival-request for a Retro Sled Display. Will discuss further.

Received a letter from Len Sharpe requesting exemption from the severance application fee. He is applying for 3 severances and would like to only pay $100.00 rather than $300.00. Council did not approve this.

f) Police Services Board
-Request for 4 members of Community Policing Committee to attend the Crime Prevention Seminar and pay registration, per diem and mileage.

WE received approval for a second Seniors Complex with 10 2 bedroom Units. This will proceed in the spring once construction details are finalized.
h) Algoma District Municipal Association
-Sept. 22 Meeting Report
Prefer a whole day meeting to ˝ day meeting. Long way to travel for some for just ˝ a day. Next meeting Nov. 3 Discussed the FONOM Summit in North Bay. Clerk to put together letter for Mayor sign stating our dissatisfaction with the set up of the Summit

Councillor Mason discussed the updating of the township website. It is almost done. Discussed domain names and we are going to secure echobay.ca for a $45.00 annual fee. Councillor Mason to discuss the business links further with the businesses
