Spike and Buffy
|
Our Beautiful Spike, |
Hi: My family adopted two dogs from the shelter, in 1989 - Spike a collie
mix left at the shelter because the family was moving, and in 1991 - Buffy
a spaniel mix left at the shelter because her owner worked a lot and didn't
have time for her. We lost Spike on December 27, 2001, his body just started
shutting down and Buffy to diabetes February 2, 2004. They were both six-month-old pups respectively at the time of adoption. They gave us the best joy. They both loved to swim and we lived on the water so that was an every day event. Buffy loved to chase squirrels and she was an excellent mouser; they never got away. Spike loved to go ice fishing and guard the catch of the day. They were both perfect around the kids and protected them completely. Bed hogs was an understatement and sometimes getting a spot to sleep at night was almost impossible. Spike was so proud after a grooming (cut and shampoo) and would prance around with such pride, as though he was the most beautiful thing in the world. As for Buffy, my husband had nick named her Miss Piggy because if there was mud to be found she knew where to go. |

They had become as much a part of the family as anything could be. The photos were each taken within 6 months of each of their death.

The Rainbow Bridge Where the friends of man and woman do run,
On this golden land, No more do they suffer,
Their limbs are restored,
|
.....They romp through the grass,
All ears prick forward,
For just at that instant, their eyes have met.
The sadness they felt while they were apart,
Sadly miss, |
|
In memory of my faithful Buffy, |

If it should be that I grow weak If it should be that I grow weak, You will be sad, I understand, We've had so many happy years, |
....Take me where my need they'll tend,
Sadly missed,
