Willy aka Pete

"To All Concerned: Please find attached a picture of our new addition to our family that has helped ease the pain and hurt after the sudden death of our cat Arnie of 15 yrs. We were not sure when to adopt but that Saturday morning I had a strong feeling that we just had to go to the shelter and it was meant to be. I say that he was the angel dust that was sprinkled down over us that day.

We adopted Willy (kennel name was Pete) on October 21st, 2006. He had a bad cold to start with but we nursed him back to health and he is a beautiful boy and we love him dearly. He settled down straight away and Arnie's sister is slowly getting used to him.

Rod and I would like to thank all the staff and volunteers for all their hard work and helping these poor creatures who deserve good homes to find kind owners. Without you all the world would be an even sadder place."

Sincerely
Jayne Sparkes & Rod Westwood

Jackie and Beau

"We adopted a cat named "Puddy" from the shelter about 5 years ago. His name has changed to Jackie and I adore my cat! Jackie has this attitude about him that he's king of the world and I just love it, it makes us laugh all the time. We were so pleased with our cat that we decided to get a dog about 5 months ago. His name was "Hotdog" but we changed it to Beau and he was badly abused by his previous owners but he's doing great now. Beau is still scared of new people but he just wants to be loved we love our animals to death! I just wanted to thank you all at the shelter because my family wouldn't be the same with out my babies!!

Thanks again,
Carrie Aikens and Francis Belanger"

Lucy aka Princess

From the Boucher family:

"I am writing to give you an update on Princess who is now known as Lucy. We adopted Lucy from the Humane Society in Feb 2005. She is a great dog, very social and loving. She is always willing to please.

Lucy is now a graduate of basic obedience training and soon we will be starting her on advanced obedience.

She is a wonderful dog for my two young sons and she is very tolerant of them. Her best friend in the whole world is our yougest cat Bailey. Lucy and Bailey will just sit in the kitchen and play for hours. I am so glad that we adopted Lucy and I could not picture my life without her.

In these pics I have posted, Lucy is trying her best to demonstrate how she can sit up nice to get her picture taken."

Chelsey
the
Champion

From Brandie Gareau:

"This past weekend I took Chelsey to a
NAMBR (North American Mixed Breed Registry)
Obedience Trial.

Chelsey got two legs of her CD (Companion Dog) Title and she placed first in both trials with scores of 194 and 195 out of a possible 200. To obtain a CD you have to compete in three separate trials.

NAMBR provides the mixed breed dog owner with an equal opportunity to earn titles in these disciplines through NAMBR sanctioned Obedience Trials and Tracking Tests.

This compliments activities such as a Flyball and Agility, where there is no distinction between the pure and not so pure bred.

The primary focus of NAMBR is the mixed breed dog."

You can read about this wonderful dog by linking here to her previous story. Scroll down the page to find her photos. Chelsey was one of Sally's pups.

Keke aka Sparky

From the family of Keke aka Sparky:

"Well I came in and adopted my first kitten after being on my own for almost a year. I was looking for any cat that caught my eye, but as soon as my roommate picked up this kitten and looked at me and said 'we're taking her', I knew we had to.

We named her Keke, and now she's a big kitty! She's still as energetic and silly as she was the day we brought her home.

Thanks for the friend!"
