Pet Stories
Joey
|
Hello, I adopted my cat at the Humane Society in March 2002. Her name was Felicity at the shelter and her name now is Joey. She's about 2 1/2 years old now. Thanks! |
Sieko
|
Sieko's family reports: "We adopted Sieko around 04/01 from the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society. She is very smart and well behaved (a bit of a couch potato while inside). She
has been a perfect addition to our family." |

Min and Jasmine
Here are some pictures of my latest rescues: 3 year old Siamese Min and 1 year old Shi- Poo, Jasmine
| Min is from the Humane Society in the Soo, adopted in September after living in the shelter for 11 days. The poor cat had given birth to litter after litter and was very underweight, but has bounced back and is in great health. She loves children and is always craving their attention. She is quite the chatterbox, but that's what makes her personality. She immediately captured the heart of our family who made her the newest addition in our home. | ||

Jasmine was rescued from a Puppy Mill in Quebec. She was 6 lbs when I got her on July 1st of this year, and now is a healthy 12 lbs. She has doubled her weight in just 4 months. She came with a lot of emotional baggage and she still fears people, with exception of me, but within time she will realize that her home is safe and she will never know fear again. We have our little "love time" I hold for a minute and I whisper to her how much I love her and how happy I am to have her in my life, and she falls asleep in my arms. |

| It's hard to describe how special these critters are to us and I can't wait to adopt another shelter animal. |
Mara, Sam and Buster
|
From the mom of Mara, Sam and Buster: "The striped siamese is Amara (Mara now), the other siamese, Sam, is also a shelter kitty, adopted in July and their brother is Buster, not a shelter kitty but a desperately-in-need-of-a-home-kitty also. All are under 8 months old right now. They are all spay/neutered, have all shots, are indoor pets and very happy. They are wonderful and doing great." |

Mika
|
When we received these photos of Mika, we thought of how beautiful and confident looking she has become, compared to the shy, quiet little shepherd in her pen at the shelter a few months ago. Mika's new mom and dad report that "Mika is really enjoying her new home with her two sisters (the cats). She has been to obedience classes and is a welcome addition to our family. We love her very much!" |
