Libby aka Cheyanne

"Since we lost our loving baby Kitty Douglas, we since fell in love with a new baby from the Humane Society, Cheyanne now called Libby or Liblets (is her nickname)! Libby is so friendly and affectionate, it's so weird that it took so long for her to be adopted! But this worked out for our benefit! She brings so much joy and love into our lives, that were so empty since Kitty passed away! Libby loves to play and sleeps with Mommy and Daddy every night, between us! She loves to help Mommy or Daddy with computer keyboard work. We are so lucky to have brought Libby into our home and lives! We hope every animal is given the same opportunity to make a home a loving pet home from the Humane Society!" ... Lora and Danny Douglas.

Abby and Jessica

"Abby 'adopted us' in November, 2008. She was about 6 months old. When we went to the Humane Society to view prospective adoptees, Abby completely stole our hearts. She pranced around acting so spunky, and was so adorable, we just had to bring her home with us. She was quite nervous and untrusting at first, but she is finally coming around a year later. It has taken awhile to earn her trust. She is very loving and just loves to cuddle up and just be near us. She has her moments though, when she just doesn't want to be bothered and we have learned to respect that.

We added Jessica (Jessy) to our family in March, 2009. Jessy was a little over a year old. My husband picked her out. There was just something about her sweet demeanor that tugged at his heart and he couldn't resist her charms. She has bonded really closely with Abby and they are always together. You can't find one without the other being snuggled up to her. They eat together, sleep together, play together and wash each other. It's heartwarming to see them. Jessy has the sweetest disposition and just loves to climb on top of us to knead us with her claws, sing to us, and just be loved. She is just so easy-going, and goes with the flow. They both love the car and travelling with us.

With their similar markings, it is sometimes difficult to tell where one finishes and the other one starts!
We sure love 'our girls'!! Together, they make our family complete!"

Sincerely,
Rod and Cher Parker

Lizzie aka Smokey

November 23/09
"With a heavy heart we are letting you know that Lizzie aka Smokey, passed away peacefully with the assistance of the Animal Clinic. There was nothing that could be done. She had Liver failure. She was a wonderful, loving cat and a perfect fit to your family."
..... Kind regards,
Edgar and Ursula

"Lizzie got her name from Elizabeth Taylor as she is so elegant, lots of style. She wears collars with 'jewels' and looks stunning and stylish. We keep her as an indoor cat. Lizzie is taking to us, her new family, very well. Lizzie is a talker, lots of purrs.

Thank you to the lady pointing her out to us as she was taking pictures to place on the Humane society website. She was right, she is a beautiful cat and has a wonderful nature.

In this picture she is looking out of the garden doors at the birds."

"Also thank you to the Doggie Styles Pet Grooming on 134 Gore Street. giving their service to help pets get adopted."

Smokey found a home after waiting quite awhile. She had gone for a complimentary grooming session at Doggie Styles Pet Grooming on 134 Gore Street. She came back from her kitty makeover looking lovely wearing a blue bow.

Jazz aka Carly, and Chester

"Hi, My name is Kristin Samuel-Stevens and I adopted a puppy last year 6 weeks old called Carly. She is now 15 months and her name is JAZZ. She loves to play outside and chase squirrels, is great with the kids and a great watch dog. We love her very much.

I also had adopted another dog there at 8 weeks old 14 years ago. His name is Chester. He is still with us. He will be 15 in December. We got Jazz because we had a bad year with many deaths in our family and didn't want our son and daughter to go through another one as Chester was not well. We tried older dogs but Chester would have nothing to do with them so we then introduced Jazz aka Carly and he accepted her once she learned who was top dog. Having her around seemed to give him a new lease on life. Chester has outlived two of our other dogs. He's like a Duracell battery. We love them both and are just as much part of our family as our children"...... Kristin

Kitty

"Kitty came to us 9 years ago (Kitty was adopted at the age of 2 or 3 ) from the Sault Ste Marie Humane Society full of love and spirit! She loved to play outside in the back yard, hunting and sunbathing on her sundeck, loved to chase balls and laserlights! She gave of herself unconditional love! She had many wonderful personalility traits that amused us - shaking her paw when she drank, her funny meows when she wanted something or our attention. She loved to lay on Mommy in bed or on the couch and snuggle. She loved when Daddy came home from night shift, so she could jump up on the bed to sleep with Daddy until I got up to play with her! She loved her Ryan and Natasha! But two years ago, she developed an illness that made her very sick, losing 2/3 of her body weight due to the illness! With her loving Doctor's help, she stayed with us for 2 more years, until she passed away this Sept 1/09. She will be missed and loved forever! Our pain is real for now, but hers is gone and she is at peace! Hugs and Kisses to you, our sweet Kitty! Mommy and Daddy will keep you in our hearts forever!! xoxox" ... Danny and Lora Douglas
