Dawson
|
From the Family of Dawson: Dawson, recently adopted, seems very happy in his new environment. "Dawson is a great dog, and is still a little shy towards other people. He is protecting his home already." He sat quietly in his shelter pen waiting for a home, always the gentleman. He's a little camera-shy. |

Minue aka Finneus
| Hi: My boyfriend and I recently adopted Finneus from the shelter and he loves his new home. We renamed him Minue, which is the French slang for Cat, and he is very playful; he welcomes us when we come home and lets us know when he needs some extra attention! Thank You very much Sherri & Robert |

Jade
|
From
the Family of Jade: Hello.... This past summer, I was contacted about fostering a mother cat and her 2 kittens. They came here and stayed with us for a few weeks until they could be adopted out. We ended up keeping the mother. Her kittens were adopted out in August; they were Tito and Teo. They were the sweetest little kittens ever. Here is a picture of the mother who we love to death. Her new name is Jade. She is the most amazing cat and couldn't have asked for a better companion. Check the August 04 Adoption Gallery to see more photos of this little family. |

Black and Blue
|
From
the Family of Black and Blue
Just an update on the two little cats (brothers), we adopted in December. Briefly named Silver and Myrrh, for their short shelter stay, we call them Black and Blue. They are very healthy and have settled in nicely. Since they were very timid and nervous when they came home, we showed them lots of love and care until they felt safe with us. They are both happy and affectionate now, and keep us entertained with their antics. They love to chase each other around the house and wrestle like a couple of little boys. You can see in the pics, they still like to curl up together; and they are waiting patiently for their supper. |

Buckley and Mischa
|
Back in August my huband and I adopted a cat from the Soo Humane Society named Buckley. He is doing absolutely wonderful and I don't think it is possible to love him anymore than we do. He was 3 1/2 when we got him and is now almost 4 years old. He has more spunk than a lot of kittens. Thanks to the Humane Society volunteers. My mom also adopted a cat there, at the same time, by the name of Mischa, who had been rescued from an abondoned apartment and was so skinny and sickly. I am happy to report that Mischa has bounced back and then some and is truly a lap cat. You can no longer see and feel her spine. She is perfectly healthy and the vet says there are no long term problems because of what happened to her. She is a spoiled princess and is certainly being treated like one. She gets more love and attention than anyone can ever imagine. We are so truly thankful
that we were able to bring home our babies. They are truly our family.

Sunkissed (aka Jonah), Boots (aka Cassidy), and Bagherra
|
Hi, I adopted Sunkissed (aka Jonah) and Boots (aka Cassidy) in fall of 2004. I just wanted to send you some updated pictures of them. The kittens have
become members of our family and the kids love them. Both kittens are
extremely playful but very affectionate. They get along wonderfully with
Bagherra our other cat and he treats
them like his babies. |

Norman (aka Norm)
My name is Sarah and I adopted my cat, Norman (previously Norm) from the shelter in August, 2004.
|
|
At five years old, most people looked right past him, but I fell in love with him immediately. As a university student in Ottawa, Norman has gotten me through a lot of tedious times. Unlike many of the people in my life, he has never let me down, and never will. He always welcomes me when I come home, and snuggles when I need comfort. As irritating as his early morning wake-up calls are, I know that he does it because he loves me and wants to be with me. He eats with me, travels with me, and sleeps with me every night, and I couldn't be happier. |
| I truly believe that God sent him to me so that I wouldn't be alone. I thank God and the humane society staff every day for providing me with something so small that has filled such a huge part of my life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. | |

Malakai and Santana
|
Hello! My name is Vanessa and
I've adopted 2 cats from the Sault Humane Society (Malakai-3
years, |
|
|
I recently moved to Ottawa and could not take my 2 older cats and my dog so I adopted Santana ... he's LOVING our apartment in Ottawa and for some reason my friends come over to see my kitten instead of me! Haha! Having a cat is a great comfort when living alone, and even in a family, and I could never see myself living without a pet... Thank you for taking such good care of your animals and putting forth so much effort to find them homes ... they're like little fuzzy people! :o) Vanessa, Keno, Kai, Ray and Tana... (The picture is of Malakai and Santana...Tana is what we like to call Kai's "mini-me") |
